At the University, our commitment to equal access for students with disabilities goes beyond the notion of formal equality.
While equality means giving everyone the same, equity means giving each person what they need in order to truly have an equal opportunity. This distinction is fundamental to the philosophy of our program.
The support provided to students with disabilities—whether it concerns physical spaces, educational processes, or assessment—does not constitute a “convenience” or a lowering of standards. On the contrary, it is the necessary mechanism for removing the barriers created by the academic environment.
Our goal is to ensure that our students’ success is based solely on merit, effort, and ability, and not on the presence of a physical or structural barrier.
By focusing on equity, we are building an institution that recognizes diversity, promotes inclusion, and offers genuinely equal opportunities for all.
