FAQ
When we refer to a person with disabilities, we mean students who experience permanent or long-term physical, sensory, cognitive, mental, and/or neurological impairments that may affect their functionality within the educational process. The needs of these students vary and may relate to accessibility in the physical or digital environment, participation in courses, assessment methods, or communication with academic staff. The identification of students with disabilities is based on an official diagnosis and relevant documentation, with the aim of providing appropriate accommodations and support measures that ensure equal access to education.
The Equal Accessibility Unit supports students with disabilities, chronic health conditions, special educational needs, or other circumstances that may affect their full and equal participation in the academic, educational, and social life of the Technical University of Crete. If you are unsure whether your situation falls within the scope of the Unit’s services, we encourage you to contact us for information, advice, and guidance.
Students are encouraged to contact the Unit as early as possible, ideally at the beginning of their studies or as soon as a support need arises. However, the Unit remains available throughout the entire course of a student’s academic journey, and support may be requested at any stage of study.

Students’ personal, medical, and sensitive information is treated with strict confidentiality and is protected in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
